Distributor question for the Gurus!
Hey all,
I did the Hei Swap today with a junkyard distributor. Unfortunately after I did it there was a horrible tapping noise coming from the dizzy. So I was going to bite the bullet and get a reman dizzy from the zone. I had them look up a 75 truck and a 75 vette. I was expecting the same part number, but I was wrong. When she pulled both the arms connected to the springs for the vaccuum advance on the vette dizzy looked much thicker (heavier) than the arms on the truck dizzy. Other than that they looked the same. The module numbers were the same etc. Can anyone tell me which one would be better? I thought the vette would be better because of the high porformance aspect, but the lighter arms on the truck seem like they would advance better. This is on a stock 68 350 with a two barrel carb. Thanks for the help guys!! Shawn

Re: Distributor question for the Gurus!
well they make them that are adjustable.
you can stick a tiny screwdriver in the vacuum hole and adjust it. can't say about the two different vacuum modulators but i bet the vet dizzy was more right? |

Re: Distributor question for the Gurus!
I agree that you can find them for a better price as the parts store is probably rebuilt anyway. You can get brand new through summit for that price. They even have some of the performace goodies in there already. BTW Mark I think He is talking about the mech. adv. on the top under the rotor.
