31s on stock 15' rims
Well I have 215/75r15 on my truck know with about o 2-3 in of room tell i even start to tuck the tires under the body of my 1986 chevy sliverado 1/2 2wd. I would like to put my tires from a set of rim on the truck, the tire size is 31*10.50R15LT.
My step dad says they will rub i disagree only cause my truck still sits high for a 2wd much higher then my other 86 c10. P.s. my current tires are the world greatest bfgoodwrinch allterain t/a tires. I need to save money for some new tires cause two of mine are good the rear are bald after to many burn outs. Ill try and find/ get a pic of the truck know. (it has chrome wagon wheels but same rims size as factory and the factroy ones are going back on it.)

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
31x10.50R15 will fit no problem on stock 2wd suspension
accually 32's will fit under a 4x4 stock The stock 235/75R15 look to small for our trucks, the 31's fill the wheel well nice, and don't rub at all. We have used this size as a recommendation if changing 4 tires on these style trucks for years at our shop Duro

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
My step dad keep saying the wieth is to much is he just blowing smoke or is he right?
He says he had a 2wd and tryed putting 31 under it and it rubbed the frame. I think hes truck my have sat lower then mine cause with my old black c10 i think the springs were way wore out cause it sat about 2-3 lower in the front and rear. Also i used it to haul about 7500 pound about 5 times Kinda killed that truck. This one will be treated much nicer, black one was my first pickup and thought its a truck it can do anything well i was wrong gotta have the right stuff first.

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
You might have seen it already, but here's a side shot of my '79 C10, suspension is so stock all paint's turned into rust (literally):
These are 32x11.5x15 in the front, and 33x12.5x15" in the rear, there's no rubbing whatsoever. And what yer dad said about the weight being too much - what weight is too much?

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
I ran 2 sets of 31x10.50's on my 76 with no rubbing at all. One were mud tires, the others were street tires.
I also ran 3312.50's on a stock 86 4x4 so 33's will fit 4x4 and 31's fir 2wd for sure I had it that way. If they rub you got something wrong, worn springs or something.

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
I've been running 31X10.50's on my 1982 GMC Sierra Classic 1/2 ton stock suspension with 15X7 rallies and have plenty of clearance, no rubbing whatsoever. Not exactly a low rider with those 31's, has worked great for haulin and towin....

Re: 31s on stock 15' rims
I have run both 31x11.50 and 32x11.50 on 15x8s with stock (except HD front coils) and didnt have a rubbing problem with the 31s and only a slight rub with the 32s on the inner fender and upper fender lip. If there is a rub problem it wouldnt be with the frame it would be with the fender.
