Occasional no start.
Occasionally my truck refuses to start. I've narrowed it down to no spark sometimes(It's getting fuel and the starter is engaging the flywheel). Last thing I did today was take the #1 wire and put a nail to the dist. I saw a spark and it started. Put it back on and no problems. Could I need new spark plug wires to solve this issue?

Re: Occasional no start.
Do you have an HEI ignition? I had similar troubles that deviled me. Turns out I had a faulty module. I bought one of the Echlen-series modules from Napa and it has been fine.
I had been using an MSD HEI module, but I decided to replace with stock. I can;t tell a difference.... other than it starts now |
