cab mounts

What is the distance between the cab floor and the frame with new cab mounts? I'm trying to get a rough fit of the front wrap but I can't order my cab mounts till next month(I've already killed my truck fund for the month) So anyone that has their cab sitting on the new mounts can I talk you into measureing for me or anyone know off the top of their head?

thanks in advance
Frank

Re: cab mounts

sick69;
I measured on my 71 c20 which I put new cab mounts on.
Between the frame mount and the surface on the cab floor where the mount go.
Front: 35mm, 1,4 inch
Rear: 68mm, 2,7 inch
Hope it helps.

Re: cab mounts

Unfortunatly its a c10 half ton and the c20 3/4 tons are different I believe. I appreceiate the effort though. I should have said what model and tonage I was working on.

So I need to know the distance between the frame and the cab on a 70 c10 half ton with new cab mounts. I'm not sure if it will be different between the rubber mounts and the urythane mounts. I would assume they would be the same.

Thanks for the help
Frank

Re: cab mounts

I read your post as needing the front mount distance, so I did not measure the rear on a 71 C-10. Anyway on this truck it measures 1 3/8" but I had shimmed the mounts 1/4" to level the cab with the bed. If you take away the shims, then with new poly mounts the distance is 1 1/8".

Attached is a pic of the measurement.

Re: cab mounts

Did you need from the floor to the frame which is really inboard of the mount and the floor rail that runs front to back or from the mount bracket on the frame to the floor support as pictured in the reply above? on my truck also a2500 floor to frame is 1 1/8 the cabs are the same 1/2 and 3/4 this I know and I have to believe they mount on the frame the same way. After all they are Chevys.

Re: cab mounts

I was thinking 1/2 and 3/4 were different because of the different parts numbers but ok if they are the same,,,,

I needed the measurement from the frame mount to the cab support as pictured above for the front and the rear.

I installed a camaro sub frame in the front many years ago when I started this project and the core support totally misses the frame (by an inch or two) so i'm going to flip the front end. Brackets need to be made to attach the front end to the frame. I can mock up the cab mounts (with the measurements) and get rough brackets built and clean them up after I get my cab mounts.

Thanks for the help guys!
