Dropping a BIG 10
I just bought a 1978 Big 10
Id like to bring it down a bit with spindles and a shakle hanger kit , from my understanding the truck has some serious rear suspension , can I still use a standard half ton shackle and hanger kit on this unit?? P.S Im one of you now ! my first 73-87!!!! and its got a Big block.........

Re: Dropping a BIG 10
Yes you can, my 73 has the same suspension setup as a Big10...and I did the spindle/shackle/hanger kit many years ago.
Welcome to the 73-87 world! Have any pictures of the truck you would like to share?

Re: Dropping a BIG 10
You more than likely have the 1.25" front rotors as well. Its no problem they make spindles for them as well you just need to make sure to order the correct ones. I cant remember the code I think its JB5 for th HD brakes. You also have 11" rear drums with that. I fairly sure its standard stuff on the BIG 10's. mine is lowered 2.5"/4" with Western Chassis spindles/shackles and hangers. Good luck and enjoy getting the rivits out.
