steel to wood?

is it possible to remove a steel bed floor and replace it with a wood floor???

Yep! Go to www.mar-k.com All you will need (other than the wood kit) is a piece that bolts or welds to the front panel for the wood to attach to. You can also replace the front panel if you want to with a new one meant for wood, but it's not absolutely necessary. You son't have to do anything to the bedsides.

that is the one and only thing I don't like about my 67 , mine came with the steel floor and in my dream of my dream 67 it would have a wood floor , clear coated stained oak will do (LOL)
but that is the one part I'm just gonna have to forget ,

Wood beds can be done pretty cheap, all depends on what materials you choose. The piece I mentioned earlier is only $20. Buy the right guy the right beer, and you can have the wood for a couple hundred bucks. Go with painted steel strips for the cheap, or aluminum, or plain stainless, or polished stainless. All in all, wood beds aren't really that much to do.
