Factory option?
GM thinks of everything! This sure beats putting new valve cover gaskets on; PO put this beautiful 2 quart re-oiling system in rather than replace the leaking gaskets....it's a sure bet this frame will never rust.

Re: Factory option?
Too late! These have been available for years. WalMart has the market cornered!
Question. Does the oil that is saved by recycling the "holder" make up for the oil that is spent rather than replacing the cork gasket? Oh wait, I think cork is still an endangered species. That explains it.

Re: Factory option?
If he were to cut a gallon milk jug in half he could use that as his funnel. Save space and carry the oil inside, just make sure to replace the cap so you don't drip oil on the street...

Re: Factory option?
My dad used to keep a Fedmart oil can in the front corner of the engine compartment. Thatwas easier than replacing the rear mainseal...

Re: Factory option?
I just lay it in the corner, leak or not. It`s a handy space for it.I had a truck where the p.o. made a holder for the old oil spout that was mounted to the firewall.Handy Andy.

Re: Factory option?
Tri-Pro,
This is obviously the common "driver's side" option. When will you start making the auxiliary oil storage fixture for the passenger side. I believe that very rare option had a provision also to hold the "budwiser" radiator overflow can. I've seen these somewhere on here before.

Re: Factory option?
My buddy had a trashed 71 service bed truck with the dash mounted/fill funnel option. It was screwed right to the dash and the hose from it ran to the engine. When the pressure on the guage dropped he just poured a couple quarts in.

Re: Factory option?
Do you want me to move this to the parts board so you can begin to take orders? Put me in line for three. One for my truck, One for resale, and one to store in the attic and go up in value.
