New Owner, a few questions, and PICS '72 C-10
I am the new proud owner of a '72 SWB C-10 Fleetside. I am a GM muscle car guy at heart so the truck fits in well with my collection. Found the truck on the local Craigslist here in Austin. Overall it is a really nice truck, rebuilt strong running 327, 700R-4 trans, drop spindles in front with lowering springs in the back, 2.5" Dynomax dual exhaust, and complete factory AC but not blowing cold yet. I used to own a '79 SWB many years ago so I am pretty excited about this one. My only real plans are to get the AC working, throw some new shocks on it, get some different wheels and tires, get the tail gate painted, figure out what side mirror I want, and get some little trim pieces here and there. My question is on the tail light bezels, how big of a PITA are they to put on? I considered sanding and filling in the holes but it would be nice to have a little shine around them to break up the rear end some.

Thank you for all the compliments guys. So far I really like the board and there is tons of good info on it.
You are right, Craigslist does make dreams come true. I have found my last 5 vehicles on there and sold 3. Not bad for being totally FREE!

Re: New Owner, a few questions, and PICS '72 C-10
Very nice looking. What's with the 6-lugs and '69 grille? Not that it matters, still a sweet truck.

Re: New Owner, a few questions, and PICS '72 C-10
The grille that is on the truck was there when I bought it. I would really like to swap it over to a '67 but I think there is a lot of money involved in that.
6-lug wheels? Where? The wheels that are on it are 5 on 5 15X7's that came on 94-97 chevy trucks. They are fugly I will agree. I have the steel 15X8's for it but I am not really sure what wheel and tire combo I want to go with yet. The tail gate is not for sale. I am planning to have it painted in the very near future to match the rest of the truck.

Re: New Owner, a few questions, and PICS '72 C-10
Yeah the hood, fenders, grill support, etc. would have to be changed as well if you went with a 67-68 grill. Nice truck btw. Might I recommend some late model Silverado buckets, a set of rallys or TT2s and if you go with the tail light bezels you might as well go with the tailgate trim as well. Order a free LMCtruck catalog for some good diagrams of how stuff fits together.

RE: tail light bezels - IMO, by themselves, they don't look right without all the rest of the brightwork. Just my .02 - BTW, welcome from Santa Maria, CA- and very nice truck!
