? on Cab body part replacement order
I am looking for some guidance on best order to do metal replacement & repair, to ensure proper fit, strength and support.
I need to replace much of the lower metal in my cab. Such as both rocker panels, floor sections, cab supports, rear cab corners. I looked through the FAQs but did not see any that covered this. I remember reading a thread that did discuss this, though it has been a while. Any guidance or references greatly appreciated.

Re: ? on Cab body part replacement order
All I know is do your rockers with the doors mounted.Do as much as you can with it mocked-up.It`s best to set the cab on a frame to tack the floor/support parts in place for alignment.I`d do the floor/supports/corners/rockers similtainiously with tack welds until all is well aligned.Mock-up with clamps all you can before even tacking.

Re: ? on Cab body part replacement order
There's probably lots of theories, but I did mine in this order; inner kick panels, floor, A pillar, beer, B pillar, inner rocker, beer, cab corner, the outer rocker, and beer.
The inner kick and floor were more like the same time because you have to have both of them cut before welding in either... |
