Serpntine help needed....
So, my wife and kids are gone for several days. I decided to stop procrastinating and start the serp conversion.
All is going pretty well so far. Spent the morning taking all the stock accessories and brackets off. After they came off I started putting stuff together, I did run into 2 small problems. 1. Fuel line ![]() I guess I need to reroute with a new line. Anyone have suggestions on easiest way? Get ride of hard line, go with hose to carb? 2. Need longer bolt/stud ![]() This is for the hole in passenger/outside head. ![]() All the bolts I have for this are too short. I went ahead and got the smog delete pulley. I browsed alittle the other day at the junkyard, but every serp bracket was minus smog pump and of course none of the long bolts or studs. I measured and a 6" bolt would do, give me about 3/4 thread in the head. It's coming together: ![]() The rats nest is not as intimidating as it once was to me: ![]()

It's looking good...
Did you blast the parts or paint them or ??? They look good, but you're gonna have to clean the engine, so the setup doesn't show up the engine. ![]() Is it possible to massage the fuel line to get the clearance needed?

The crusty engine needs a wash pretty bad, will get to that once I get it back together and out of the garage. ![]() As for the fuel line, I'm just going to get some new npt to nipple fittings and run a braided hose. The fitting on the carb was pretty gnawed before I got to it, had to robo-grip that joker out of there. ![]()

Re: Serpntine help needed....
I just got length of soft line to replace the hard-line. Use a hose cutter to make clean cuts on the original hard lines, then use hose clamps to seal it all off

Re: Serpntine help needed....
If you need to make bolts for this application, do what I did--go to FASTENALL and purchase GRADE 8 All Thread rod and make your own. Once installed use a quality lock nut to hold everything.
