67 c10 rear axle seal help
Hello folks,
quick question , Can someone give me the steps to replace this thing... pass rear is leaking badly! I am pretty sure to pull the brakes off and pull the axle out. Unsure about the carrier and such. I also have a rear end posi 373 gears how hard of swap would this be while I am at this. Any help would be great. thanks Jeff |

Re: 67 c10 rear axle seal help
If it's just the axle seal, all you have to do is take off the brake drum and rear cover, remove the bolt holding in the pin, slide the pin out, push the axle in so the c-clip falls out, then pull the axle out. You can use the end of the axle to pop the seal out.
The brakes don't need to come apart, and you don't need to pull the whole carrier to get the axles out. Should be a pretty easy job. Swapping the carrier and gears would turn this into a much bigger job. |

Thanks, I think I wait on the carrier and just fix this seal. Thanks again
