glove box lock switch

im trying to take the locking swithc off and having no luck. i tried the small hole in front. i tried the hole on the side. please help. thanks.

Assuming you are at the forum for the correct model and year:

Open the glove box.
Lock the latch with the glove box open.
Use a straightened paperclip in the top hole (the hole pointing at the passenger set with the glove box open) to push and release each of the tumblers one by one as you slowly remove the cylinder assembly.
