Long Bed hard bed cover~~~

Picked up this neat 8' bed, hard cover that I've never seen before. It has 3 independent sections that individually lock for security or access. It is made of some type of space age plastic stuff that is real tough. Originally designed for the 88' and newer long bed trucks, it is just wide enough to also fit onto a 67-72 with some tweeking. I believe the cover originall cost $500. when sold new and this one is still NEW---Never used---with all the original rails and attaching hardware. Now I know someone will ask it it could be modified to work on a short bed truck and -----I haven't got a clue but----it allows you to carry bigger stuff my opening any one of the three sections or sliding one, two, or all three sections off and putting them in the bed with the large item you want to carry. what kinds of mods would it need to fit a 69?

and how does it sit in the bed? is it flush or is it above the bed rails?

IT sits on top of the bed sides but does not stick way up. The beds are different dimensions on the trucks depending on the years, for example===a 67-72 fleetisde bed is 66" wide and this bed cover is 67" wide which give it a 1/2 inch overlap ---but the kit comes with an overlay rail so that you actually have about 1" on each side if installing on a 67-72 truck. The newer trucks have a narrower bed dimension. Not sure what the 88-98's are but the 99-05 have a 62" width so there is plenty of overhang with this cover on newer trucks. The borchure says it was designed for an 88+newer full size bed chevrolet. I've got the installation instructions, the mounting hardware, etc. Huck
