Heater core replacement
I'm gonna have to replace the heater core in my 70 with factory air. Are there any shortcuts? I replaced one in my 72 Cutlass about 10 years ago and it was a nightmare. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks |

You can get to all the bolts execpt the two behind the inner fender actually you can get one of them with a 1/4in drive ratchet, long ext., and a swevil(sp). But the one in the very corner you have two options you can remove the inner fender or break the corner ear off of it. Not much options is it!

How much trouble are they to replace if you don't have A/C

Not too bad, I did a heater core on my 72 a few years back, and I got everything apart and back together again, it took an entire evening to do. I 1/4 set of sockets with a swivel, some masking tape, and a good selection of extensions is about all that you need. Better get a few band aids too. Very time consuming, but overall not too difficult.

Just a thought but you could always take out all the ones that you can get to and then when it comes to the last 2 you could always go to the inside of the cab and try to drill them out, but I'm not sure if that would be any easyier........ Good luck -Brian
