Water pump hose ?

I have a 1985 Corvette aluminum short water pump for my 383 build and noticed that the radiator hose connection on the pump is smaller than the hose that goes into the radiator itself. Is there an adapter of some kind or special lower radiator hose that will work. In other words, my stock loser radiator hose is too big for the corvette hose connection. I'd like to be able to use this pump. Has 0 miles on it.

I don't know about the hose connections, but a Corvette pump is a little longer than a normal short pump. Your belt will not line up right with normal truck pullies and brackets.

Re: Water pump hose ?

There are alot of different hoses out there. Find your best local parts store worker that is competent in useing the books and not the computer cataloging and they should be able to fix you up.

I used to do it ALL the time when I worked at NAPA for the local race track guys as well as myself.

Re: Water pump hose ?

you can use the stainless or the braided hoses available from speedway summit jegs pepboys etc they allow you to use different sized adapters on the hose for both ends but theyre alot more expensive than rubber
