water outlet

Happy 4th all
I have a 65 230 six, need a little help. I was putting a new temp gage on and the housing broke where the thermostat bolts to but problem is its the piece between the thermostat housing and the block. Any ideals where to find one? chevy duty or lmc doesn't have them is the junk yard my only option?
Thanks Mike

Re: water outlet

I asked about this piece for a 250 before, actaully recently, and a few members said i should be able to find one at a local parts store, like napa or autozone or anywhere else. I havent checked yet, but i would try there...

Re: water outlet

I manage a parts store by day (Classic Auto Restoration by Night, I'll sleep when I'm DEAD). I'll check tomorrow and see if Murray offers that spacer.

Re: water outlet

Murray did not list the spacer. Looks like a boneyard item. Jerry

Re: water outlet

Thanks Jerry
It's definitely a Saturday at the junk yard item and to find one in fair shape being cast aluminum the years do take their toll
Thanks Mike

Re: water outlet

JB Weld will work as a temporary fix until you find one. As long as you clean and prep REAL good, it will hold. Jerry
