6 Lug???

Does anybody know if a regular 6 lug 2wd wheel will bolt onto a 6 lug 4wd front spindle?

Re: 6 Lug???

If the hubs are the same opening (center hole of wheel) should work fine as long as its a 6x5.5 bolt pattern i believe

Re: 6 Lug???

i would think so. the only problem i ever had was some older rims for drum breaks would not clear the calipers on disk breaks, but that was on cars not sure if it is a problem with these trucks or not

Re: 6 Lug???

I can tell you that 67-70 drum rims will not bolt on 78 4x4 front discs without gouging the rim and caliper

Re: 6 Lug???

6-lug rims that came on factory disc brake trucks will fit both disc and drum trucks. 6-lug rims that came on a factory drum truck WILL NOT FIT over the front calipers.

Like sdkid pointed out, your older 6-lug rims won't work on a 78 4x4. However, the 4x4 rims off that 78 will work on your 70 front or rear.

Same thing with 5-lug car rims. My 14" ralleys that I got on my 1972 Chevelle when I bought it (front disc brakes were an option in 72 on Chevelles) won't fit on the front of the car now that I installed disc brakes.
