did I just ruin my headlight switch?

I was trying to remove my gauge cluster on my '69 and I pulled my headlight switch knob off. Now it wont stay in. Did I just trash this? When I push it in it just comes out without "grabbing" the switch? Delayed Friday the 13th bad luck?

Re: did I just ruin my headlight switch?

I should have read the faq. I did not push the button on the switch.

They are readily available at most auto parts stores. I did the same thing, accept It broke going back together. I believe it was around $12.00,.
