LSX engine mounts
Who makes the best ones? I want to slide the motor back an inch or two...Who builds those that slide the motor back? Thanks Guys for the help

Go with the plates, then. Don't go with the ECE mounts, they will put the engine a decent bit forward in the engine bay. There are any number of places that sell the plates, including S&P. All of em are about the same damned thing.

with the plates can you use the orignal frame mounts? just bolt the plates to the motor then the mount to that? using a 4l60e will the trans fit the cross member or will it need to be modded? are th350 and 4l60e yokes the same spline? thanks in advance!!!

When I did mine I used the Advanced Adapters plates and then replaced the stock perches with the tubular type-got mine from Brothers, but i've seen them from others also. They adapt to a passenger car type mount where the Motor mount bolt runs longitudnialy (sp?)- front to back- instead of coming in from the back of the stock perch. I then used some poly mounts from Energy. I did have to drill new mounting holes about 3/4-1" back from the stock location because the pan was hitting the x-member (LS1 out of a 2000 camaro). Theres a pic of the L&R below if that helps... For the tranny I was able to use the stock x-member- just redrilled holes in the frame a little farther back and used another poly mount from Energy. I dont have any pic's but I think it was an inch or so farther back. The stock shift linkage looked like it would have worked also, but it was worn pretty bad so I replaced it w/ some Lokar linkage. You can use the stock automatic tranny crossmember (NOT the 3spd one!!) and it is nearly a direct bolt up. You may need to drill new holes in the stock mount to bolt up, depending on which mount you use (or maybe for all mounts). I suggest going aftermarket for the crossmember. If I had my choice to do it again, I would use CPP's tubular tranny crossmember, it is much easier to install than ECE's.

thanks for the info!!! im trying to do my cheap. i dont have a prob doing a lil fab. would the stock mounts work with the block side adapter plate? or do u need to change to the tubular style? the cross member ill just move and drill as need be. i just want to drop the 5.3/4l60 in without havin to change drivelines. i spent all my money on my camaro haha!!! so cheap is the plan for this!

i ended up moding the passenger side mount to allow the stock exhaust manifold to clear. I am having to change them out to the tubular frame side mounts now since im adding a/c.......
