Door Mirror Placement and Issues - Help!!

I do not remember ever having this problem before but, I purchased the repro rear-view door mirrors from LMC (the 6" x 4") original replacements. For the life of me I cannot figure where they should mount - - - The drivers side is not a problem - but the passenger side is driving me crazy... No matter where I put the mirror I cannot get it to turn in enough for me to see the side of the truck - or even close to it.
Have any of you purchased these mirrors, and installed them. can some one send me a picture of the door with the mirror installed so I can see the placement?
I know this sounds crazy, but it is driving me CRAZY!!! this is my third ground up - and I have never had this problem - so I'm hoping it is just something I'm missing.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Cypress

Re: Door Mirror Placement and Issues - Help!!

The passenger side is mounted about three quarters of an inch further back ( I think, can't remember) but it's still tough to see out of these mirrors. I think I cheated when I did my dad's and went a little further.
