Parts Yard Meets Metal Dumpster

Metal dumpster landed at the shop on Monday, time to get busy.

No sure how to post this without getting buried by "I want" replies.

Anyway, pulling apart 8 trucks.

Saving what's worth saving and scraping the rest.

Lots of good stuff:
Frames - Grilles - Front Clips - Doors - Motors - tranny's - Glass...etc.

5-lug rally's with rings and tires that have only 500 miles on em. $400.00
(tires alone were over $500)

I'll start taking pics and posting prices as parts come off.

One truck that's worth selling as a whole is the 1972 3/4 ton 4x4 burb.
Factory 3/4 ton truck with all the original running gear, it's got 4:10 gears.
Interior is complete but certainly dated.
Great front clip with a really nice inner/outter grill
350 crate motor with about 6K on it, runs great but the th-350 is getting tired, new dual exhaust. $950.00 obo.

Please reply here, no hidden pm's accepted.

Delivery available for the burb or any of the bigger parts @ buyers expense.

Re: Parts Yard Meets Metal Dumpster

Save an assortment of bolts screws and small hardware for the cab, front clip, fenders, doors, trim, interior etc. I need a spare assortment. Don't need large hardware as much but if you throw it in a can that would be great as well. Thanks Oh yea, I could use a good outer grill for a 69.

Do the grab bag sale. These went well earlier. I think he bought prepaid boxes layed stuff out on a towel and then took a few pic's of the odds and ends and sent. Very easy! I wonder if a truckload sale would work as well

nplocoman, They are called a "Flat Rate Box" at the post office. The boxes are free just pick some up at the post office. There are two sizes 11 x 9 x 6" and 14 x 12 x 3-1/2. The latter one has a self adhesive flap so no need to tape. Priority shipping, either box is $8.95. If you add delivery confirmation, it is $0.65 extra and $1.65 extra if you add $50.00 insurance.

As you see the boxes are not big but if you send something heavy and you could fit it in the box you come out ahead. If I can't fit it in the flat rate box and it is over 3# I usually ship Fedex unless I don't want to drive that far.

The only reason I did these grab bags is I wanted to get rid of the most stuff without working too hard and the flat rate boxes made that possible, not having to measure, weigh, get shipping cost, etc.

I don't remember seeing one, but a 67-8 front clip

Can't believe you're ripping apart the "yard".

Thanks for the pics, I thought that was the one... I dont exactly know why, but I love that thing!

I am going to step aside for a little bit, and hope someone else buys it before I find myself driving to VT to pick it up! (what is a city in your general location so I can look at a map?)
1100-1300 miles more than doubles the cost of the truck for me

I just wanted to state for the record here that I will not be buying the K20 Suburban. It is an awesome deal for someone closer.
I will also state that Kurt (VTBlazer) is a great guy to deal with, and I would not hesitate to buy from him!

Thanks Kurt,
