Disk brake conversion
I've got some problems with my rear disk brakes. The P.O did a rear disk brake conversion on my 72 Blazer. The back brakes keep locking up, they don't seem to want to release all of the time, only sometimes.
Any ideas why this is happening or how I can fix it??

Knee-jerk answer would be wrong prop. valve.
Disc/Drum proportioning valve on the disc/disc setup would cause that because the drum brakes require residual pressure, and the disc/drum prop valves provide that. So if he didn't change it, then the rear discs are holding line pressure. You should also check the rubber lines on the rear. DLB |

That is exactly what has happened. It is keeping pressure on the caliper.

Does it have an adjustable proportioning valve? If so, you will just have to play with the adjuster after making "panic" stops until you find the right setting that keeps the rear from locking prematurely or until all four lock at the same time.
If it isn't adjustable.....you will need to get one.

That sounds like what is happening. So I just need an adjustable proportioning valve? Any ideas where I can get one??

I would NOT get an adjustable if it were me.
This is just personal preference though. Correctly speaking - the adjustable ones are truly the proportioning valves. The fixed ones that you can buy are called combination valves. Proportioning valve is just the "generic" name for all of them. I'd just pick up a disc/drum combination (proportioning) valve from any vendor.
