Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
Desert Tank
Born: sometime in 1970 - August 11, 2007 Mourn with me, Blazer Nation On Satuday, August 11, 2007 at 8:39AM my Desert Tank found it's destiny. (Do Blazers go to heaven?) In an off-road show the driver of the Desert Tank lost control in the parking lot (Yes, in the parking lot) and flipped it upside down. I'll let the pictures explain. Thank God the driver wasn't killed and was able to crawl from underneath the Desert Tank without any scratches. And for the Desert Tank it is totaled and not worth fixing. Mourn with me, as i will miss my Desert Tank. Any suggestions, comment, or encouraging words? I'm afraid this is my last message since I'm "Blazerless" now. Thank you all for your time and help in the past and I really enjoyed being a part of this site. AJ4x4TJ |

Re: Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
I see skid marks, who was dicken' around with it?
Big tires, high center of gravity, throw in some speed and what'd ya expect? Sorry for your loss but I see it as a completely unnecessary situation/result. Someone was horsing around, showing off and being stupid. |

Re: Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
Wow dude that sucks!
If it makes you feel any better, I had this one fixed and back on the road in a month...replacing the windshield frame will go a long way. Last edited by Shock_Me; 08-17-2007 at 09:17 PM. |

That sucks. Someone else was driving your just completed rig? You could always search for another and do a tub swap.
We feel your pain.

Re: Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
Sucks that it flipped but that isn't the type of vehicle to be skidding around on concrete anyway.I agree with Jamie,it can be fixed and isnt a total loss.I see well over $2000 in good parts there. All can be fixed,if it was me and for some reason I was skiddin' around and wrecked it,I would pull the body off,if the chassis isnt damaged, save what I could from the body and start looking for a new body to start over with, not just give up.

Re: Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
At least it didn't have a roof on it at the time...one less thing to try repairing or replacing.

"It burst into flames! Get out of the way! Get out of the way! Get this, Charlie! Get this, Charlie! It's fire and it's crashing! It's crashing terrible! Oh, my! Get out of the way, please! It's burning, bursting into flames and is falling on the mooring mast, and all the folks agree that this is terrible. This is the worst of the worst catastrophes in the world! Oh, it's crashing...oh, four or five hundred feet into the sky, and it's a terrific crash, ladies and gentlemen. There's smoke, and there's flames, now, and the frame is crashing to the ground, not quite to the mooring mast...Oh, the humanity, and all the passengers screaming around here!" |

Re: Mourn with me, Blazer Nation
Ya think!?
Back when this blazer was first hitting the road and being driven, the owner posted saying how bad the handling and braking were (even saying it was scary), wonder if that had something to do with it? Big lift w/big tires on 1/2 ton axles and brakes without the correct modification's "DO" cause accidents, there's a lesson to be learned here. It really bites to see a sweet looking 1st gen on it's lid (with no roll bar especially) but IMHO it still needed alot of work done to the drive-train/steering before it was ever driven on surfaced streets. Didn't need to happen - Last edited by vtblazer; 08-20-2007 at 10:02 AM. |

A few parkin' lot dings never hurt no one...... I think I could fix that. I'd just about drive it the way it is, lol..... Looks nicer than mine
Wonder what level of pucker factor the driver experienced or the pucker factor you experienced while watching it go over...... sad sad sad..... |
