Re: lower fender patch panels

I was just like you until I found some pre fab. sheet metal for our trucks( LMCtruck.com). I bought the lower back of the front fenders and got my uncle who was an arc. welder at the ports to do it. It BURNED the holes through the sheet metal like burning paper. Then he explained the I needed a lower voltage 110 mig welder( gas or electric, but gas seems to be slightly better). I rented one twice 80 bucks total, went to the hardware store and seen it was on sale for 200 $ . Opened my world up. welding skill is almost a must to restore a truck/car. you won't regret it. It took me about 5 X to get the hang of it. The best investment MIG WELDER

I would think that if you had a body shop do it and you supplied the patches. It should be $90 - $100 per side finished to primer.

Re: lower fender patch panels

I say someone goes half on a mig welder with me. We will just keep it at my house, but it will be like both of ours!

Re: lower fender patch panels

You have to come to me up here in the north bay. Once I get the gass powered welder then I can come to you.

Re: lower fender patch panels

I bought my welder used for $200.. Gas was already hooked up and I got a cart with it.. It is a Lincoln and I think it is a 100... Good for sheetmetal..
