Need answer ASAP- 6 lug to 5

if you have a donor 5 lug 71-72 2wd in front of you, and want to swap out your 6 lug front end what is the easiest way. will just a spindle swap work out? thanx, crossy

I think its easier to swap the whole cross member. The spindles arent a direct swap and you have to change A arms,tie rods,pitman. Where as 12 bolts and brake line and the whole thing rolls out.

Do a search on here. There are many combos, using the entire assembly is one, or replacing the outer tie rods, upper and lower ball joint and spindle is another way...

thanx, that's all i needed to know to tell a guy that wants my 5 lug front crossmember.
A search turned up SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many things unrelated with just the keywords that it cornfused me. thanx again, crossy

About 10 bolts and the entire crossmember is out. That seems to be the easiest way, and the quickest way, to me.
