Is this for a leaf sprung truck already or a truck with trailing arms?

Re: ok shoot this idea down
i did ask but didn't get an answer to this specific question.i was hoping someone did a complete swap from a donor.i know i could lose a few leafs and gain a few inches but at what cost to load capacity?i was hoping there was a station wagon or land yacht i could steal from.i'm getting the front disc parts back this week i hope and was looking to do the rear drop at the same time.
i also noticed allot of old posts don't get looked at that much,at least it seems that way.i guess i could have just posted in the old thread Last edited by satin64; 08-29-2007 at 02:35 AM. |

Re: ok shoot this idea down
Can I ask why you want to go to leaf springs? Sounds like a lot of work to me. IMHO

Re: ok shoot this idea down
Almost all of 63 and up GMC's have leaf springs. Shouldn't be too hard to convert.

Re: ok shoot this idea down
Your truck has leaf springs? Did it start life as a GMC?

Re: ok shoot this idea down
If you already have leaves can't you just throw a flip kit on there?

'73 and newer may work, but I just thought I'd mention about the springs....something to check.

Re: ok shoot this idea down
i want a hard drop as low as possible with a decent ride and some load capacity.its a gmc with leafs.i have been thinking of a c notch, and i have some flip kit parts off a 2000 silverado,(but im not sure they will work).then cutting the coils up front when i add the 78 disc front end.i was hoping there was a bolt in axle over leaf donor vehicle out there, but i guess not.i dont have a big welder, just a gas less 110v.im doing this all in my drive way so i need all my ducks in a row to get it dropped in one weekend.
