Re: Another VIN decode..
I have a couple assumptiond here, and I am not at the house to look at my books (i'm at the shop) but that resembles a chevy VIN quite a bit.
Rod is king on the GMC numbers. T GMC K 4X4 E V-8 of unspecified CID 1 1/2 ton 8 Blazer/Jimmy body 2 1972 F freemont Cali plant (and then the rest of it) |

Re: Another VIN decode..
KE15514
Model #'s on Jimmy nd Blazers is not really clear in the books I have but they pretty much break down like the trucks. K = 4x4 E = eight cyl 1 = gvw range - 1/2 ton 55 = an axle dimension from cab to rear axle... but being Jimmy they dont really list the number that it represents in the GMC line, but I believe it represents 30 inches. 14 = Jimmy body style Longhorn Man got the vin decode correct.

Re: Another VIN decode..
Actually, the "F" in the vin means it was made in Flint. I beileve Fremont it represented with a "Z".

Re: Another VIN decode..
That site is kinda funny, it doesn't recognise a 3 as a one ton, it lists everything outta order so people will try to decode wayoutta wack, and the said my truck was the 160293rd one made... when it is the 60293rd.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html is the best one I have seen... it is missing the '72 only added digit, and it doesn't include codes for burbs, panels, cab/chassis, or blasers... but the stuff it has, is dead on right. |
