C-Notch (Pros and Cons)
Ok let me have it, I have the kit, but on the fence about installing it.
Right now aired out sitting on the rear snubbers I have 1/2" between the frame rails & the rear axle. Obviously this would let me get down a few more inches before the punk'n hits the bed floor. I'm only using 17's at the moment, but long term want to go either 18/20 or 20/22. I just finally got the 15's off week before last so I am sorta stylin My question is if I am going bigger down the road, hence more tuck, what do I gain from installing the C-notch other than it aired out flat on the ground look? Keep in mind I'm aproaching 40ish so I want it to have the ability to drive aired out incase of a highway emergency Here is the 15" pic, center of fenders was 25" F and 27.5" R, now it is 25" F and 25.5" R with the 17's but I can't get new pic's just yet.

Re: C-Notch (Pros and Cons)
You get the ability to RIDE at that height instead of just being parked. You will still be able to set up bumpstops that allow you to remain mobile when aired out. With 20s/22s you will need to start looking at making more room ie. inner fender/tub mods.

See Ten has a good point though. Might as well accept that you need a little bubble in the floor if you're going to notch it. |

Re: C-Notch (Pros and Cons)
Lowers your ride height and will allow a larger diameter wheel/tire without raising your ride height. Just do it- it's not like you're hacking the thing up- it's a bolt-in kit from CPP I assume?

Re: C-Notch (Pros and Cons)
Craig are you going to clearance the bed floor or let it self clearance? Seriously, my truck is in the 2.5"-2.75" range measureing from the axle tube to the frame. Meanwhile the ol chunk a dunk on the axle only has roughly an inch more than the previous measurements. So even if I go with a notch I'm only going to gain about another half an inch of travel (assuming I run some kind of bumpstop to slow down the motion before things get ugly with the floor. Of course I could always pull the old 4x4 trick and see how much I could shave off the diff. In games like these I guess every little bit counts!

Re: C-Notch (Pros and Cons)
If it was me I'd settle for it's current height as opposed to cutting and chopping a original 2wd...that's my 2 cents...
