Tire fitment question

I just picked up a 71 3/4 ton 4x4. Stock height. It has 33 12.5 16.5's right now. I like the tire size but its kinda close to rubbing. I have 4 inch lift front spring and 4 inch blocks for the back. (I thought these might come in handy someday)
Im thinking about sticking these on and then moving up to a 35 inch tire. Will the clearence be ok with this setup? Honestly I would prefer to stick with a 33 inch tire but I'm thinking it may look too small with the 4 inch lift.

I really dont like a 4 inch lift, I would prefer a 2.5 inch but sometimes you need to work with what you have.

Any ideas, comments or pics would be appreciated.

Rule of thumb:
33's with stock suspension works but stay on the pavement
33's with 4" lift works decent for off road
35's with 4" lift works but will rub off road
35's with 6" lift works decent for off road

A 2.5" lift will work fine for running the roads and minor dirt road/off road situation's.

I dont think the 33s will look that small on it with the 4" lift.If going to 35s,you might need a bigger lift depending on what you're doing.On and off road with minor wheeling you'll be alright.All lift kits are different though,some higher than others.I've got 35s with a 4" lift on the work in progress swb 4wd and it would rub wheeling it

The blazer has a 2" lift and 33s.

Here is my black 71 with 33's and a 2.5 inch lift. To me its just right. I dont really go offroad so thats not going to be a problem. I just want my green 71 to sit like my black one....My black one has 15in wheels and my green one has 16.5 so maybe I can stick with 33's even though the lift is 4in.

CG,I love the stance on that K10.The lift and tire size is just right,I also like the wide oe rims and hubcaps.I'm gonna have to get me some stock 15x8s and some more road friendly tires so I can switch wheel and tire combos depending on if I feel like wanting the or the stock look.

Thanks for the props on the truck. Right now its down and out, needs a new clutch. I recently gave it to my youngest son (almost 25) When he first heard I was taking off the rallies and going with these he hated the idea. He had been after me to lift it higher and but some giant tires and chrome wheels of some sort. When he saw it done he changed his mind and he said he will never change the way it sits or looks...except to get the box painted. But right now hes broke so the truck just sits in the barn.

I was just thinking, does a 33inch tire on a 16.5 wheel have a shorter sidewall than one on a 15in wheel?

Hey thats a nice looking ride. From the pic the tire fitment would work for me. Looks like I can stay with 33's on my green one. I like lifted trucks but getting in and out of em and trying to use em as a truck if they get too high is such a hassle.

i hear ya cg.. i really wanted to keep mine stock height but my front springs was shot . i couldnt even run 32x16 without it rubbing, and i didnt know they made a 2 an a half inch lift or i would have just went with that. but its not my daily driver so the hopin in and out isnt much a problem yet. good luck on yr decision.. im sure it will be nice .

I think 33" inch tires and a 4" lift looks good. I have 35" tires and a 4" lift. The height is a little bit of a pain, I have to lift my 8 year old son in but he loves to jump out. Your black 71 is a good looking truck.

285/75x16s with 2 1/2" or 4" lift looks real healthy,too.

Think about it guys. The difference in a 33 and a 35 is 2 inches right. That will add 1 inch to your ride height from what a 33 is.

35s with 4" Rancho I had to trim the front edge of the fenders to keep it from rubbing off-road.

Ive decided on the 33's. The steel wheels on it now I believe must be 16.5 x 10's. Im going with a set that is just a bit narrower without quite so deep a dish, and Im going to do them in white. More along the lines of the black 71. Im also picking up some dog dish style caps from a board member. Ill have to punch holes for the fronts though.

Ive already taken off the flaps. Because these tires stick out a bit and have a bit of an aggressive tread they really kick up the mud. I guess the flaps were on there for a reason.

Going to get the paint buffed out. I did a small section and it looks good. Need to pony up for a new shiny grill and front bumper too. Man the money sure adds up when you're trying to make a truck your own style.
