funny truck story with my son

me and my four year old got the ol' girl out for a cruise the other day. i bought this truck with the intention of it being his and he knows it. we went to sonic and got him some popcorn chicken, tater tots with cheese and a blue drink (ocean water) as he calls it, the usual. when the girl came out with our food she said i love your truck. my son looked right at her and said it's not his it's mine. i about fell in the floor laughing. my truck is not all that nice, original with bags pretty much. it's funny how many compiments you get in these. i had a brand new z71 with 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires and the only comments i got were it's too hard to reach in and too hard to get in and out of, no one ever noticed it. bottom line is these trucks are awesome and get attention no matter what, that's what part of owning them is so cool.

these trucks don't need vacuum gauges cause they don't suck!

Re: funny truck story with my son

Your boy probably has a calender behind his bedroom door and he's checking off the days.......11 years, 261 days, 8 hours, 24 minutes, 16 seconds......and it's ALL MINE!

Better keep that that oil changed and a coat of fresh wax on her!

Great story!

Re: funny truck story with my son

Kids say the darndest things. I promised my 11 year old my '71 SWB K10 when he's old enough to drive, but I've become real partial to it so I will probably have to buy him a differant one.

That`s cool.God made little boys "chick magnets" to test a dad`s marriage vows.If I made a move on every gal that got melted by my son at my side I`d be another Hugh Hefner.
That truck has a great color combo and looks great as is.If he ever wants to sell it have him give me a call.

Re: funny truck story with my son

I have my bed off and the cab is in primer. I went to get a load of dirt with a trailer the other day and a lady in her 70s told me that the truck was going to be nice when I finish it....If she was only younger, I'm sure she'd be a keeper.

My son's '70 is in the garage while he's in college. He may get it when he's out of school.

Borrow one - like a nephew - it's WAAAY cheaper in the long run! Get the truck done first - with all the parts it takes to build a youngin' (house, job, wife of course...) you might not be able to get the truck done otherwise! hahahhaha.....sigh...... I have 3 daughters......and nope, my trucks not done...

Re: funny truck story with my son

That'a cool story. My 4yr old son is ruined also. He notices every small detail when it comes to a vehicle. We went to see my truck after it got paint on it. My son went with us. We went back to see it about a week later, and my son pointed out evry little thing different since the last time we saw it. He tells every one we run into now that Daddy's cool truck is blue.

I am starting mine early. Twins. Boy and girl. I had a zx10R kawasaki 2005 ninja that had a race pipe on it. The boy wouldnt get off it. I would sit him on it and rev it up, and its LOUD. He loved it. Whenever i go in the garage he FREAKS and wants to be out there. I just need to keep him out of the coolant and we are good.
This is my daughter, she likes helping

The boy.

He grabs his gloves and worker hat when we are in the garage. I need to get him some overalls. ahaha... Pampers doesnt make any.

Re: funny truck story with my son

when I was growing up my dad got a 69 SWB that he fixed up pretty nice....then sold. I was probably about 11 when he sold it....why couldn't he keep it for me? Oh well, I got my GMC about 6 years later.
