Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

This is one of those things that's pretty rare, but not necessarily valuable.
I would say it's probably worth what a regular cab in that condition is worth, maybe a little bit more, but you would have to find the right buyer.

I have always wondered what they would look like if someone squared off the back door window frames to eliminate that big trianlge of ugly wasted space between the two door windows.

Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

You need to ask the 67-72 guys...not the 73-87 guys.

I know that isn't a GM job, it's a conversion company that did these I believe.

Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

There is a crew cab and it's a very decent looking one, sitting off the I-15 there in Riverside CA. I was impressed. It was Gold yellow and white like Longhorn Man's new Burb. I didn't see the price. The one there in your picture is worth saving. I would say 800-1500 price range. Good Luck and have fun because that is what it is about.

crew cab..... There's always some guys out there looking for one. You could always get it for a resale profit. Check out Hart Rod's build thread called "Donkey...." something. Definately a cool project to have.

WOW...That would be a keeper 75shortysocal...
I am sure there would be a buyer looking for that type of truck. There can't be that many of those 4 dr. trucks around.

Even if you had to go the 5bills there seems to be alot of people that want one of those. You should be able to sell it for more.

Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

I have been looking for a decent "old man" canopy for a long time. So if it was me I would have given the guy 5 bills for it no problem, and decided what to do with the rest down the road.

Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

i totally would have gotten it by now, but here in southern california, unless you own a storage lot, you basically have nowhere to park anything, i dont know to many people who would want that truck in their front yard...lol i just moved back in with the folks, and i already have my 75 shortbed, and my 84 z28, at their house.. but im trying to fineggle something out with that truck.. its in el segundo, so if i dont get it, ill let anyone whos interested in it know... but for the time being im pretty sure ill be picking it up..but ya never know..

hell, I'd get it, grab the engine and tranny and all the good parts, and scrap it.
You could sell off 3 parts and get your 5 bills back

Re: 4 door 72...worth it?

I would snatch it up.A running big block for 5 bills seems pretty cheap. There should be enough parts to recoup your money= free big block.

That would be cool to mount on a K/20 frame with the short/short bed(see Scott ad).

Good eye, I didn't even notice that, the intake did look funny tome though.
Tall deck would make it a 427 or a 366, neither worth much in stock form, and very expensive to hop up. The 366 is a waste of time to hop up, but the 427 tall deck can be built into a mountain motor.
The steel crank in the 427 tall deck is worth some coin.
