77 ff 14 bolt gear ratio
I am trying to figure out my gear ratio, Did chevy make a gear other than 3:73 or 4:10 (out of a 77 3/4 ton 4x4) This one doesn't leak , so I didn't want to take the cover off.

Re: 77 ff 14 bolt gear ratio
yup, seen them with 3.55's to 4.88's, but 4.10's seem to be the norm.

Re: 77 ff 14 bolt gear ratio
Also 4.56 would be the second most common ratio. 3.73s are pretty rare, and any other ratio (3.42 or 5.13) are very rare.
