turbocharger
does any one have any info of pics of a turbo charged small block.
i would like to see how it is set up and what is needed to do this

turbo or blown and how are you feeding the fuel carb TBI, TPI, MPI if its a turbo they are all basicly the same but will look way diffrent in the way they are fed from the turbo. here is a good artical on a diesel turbo build up not gas but still god info and pics. the turbo instalation would be the same for the most part. the big diffrenc is fuel managment and we need to know the othe rstuff to help with that. http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/c...dup/index.html

As the saying goes horsepower costs money. The cheapest route to go is find yourself a GEN III motor ... preferably the 6.0L LS1 ... they are fairly cheap to find used. Throw a CAM in it ... slap the hair dryer on it on call it a day. -Hart

if you want to see a crazy twin turbo go check out the jay leno garage and look at his tornodo build 1500HP I think is what he said its laying down.

Yes, that Toronado is beyond fricken cool! Awhile back Rides (TLC or Discovery) program did an episode on that car.....incredible...and talk about a wolf in sheeps clothing.

My cousin just finished putting an STS turbo on his 05 Denali. That thing is super fast for its weight, but be prepared to spend some dough. Buying the turbo is just the down payment, then you have to buy a new cam, meth injection, intercooler, gauges, the list goes on.....

Turbos cost more to do because of the exhaust headers and create more heat. If you run a turbo the power consitancy will change when the motor gets hot. To fix this you need to run a intercooler. I personally thnk a vortex or paxton supercharger is the way to go. Thease are superchargers that are cintrifically mounted like a turbo but are belt driven. They run about 3,000 and work with carbs. Availbla at summit racing.

We did a Weiand 142 c.i supercharger,bought through Advance auto parts who price matched Jegs. I probably have about 22 in everything. It was a great kit and no harder to do than an intake swap. Just make sure to follow the torque specs. Fits under the cowl hood with room to spare.

i beleieve the turbos (or at least some) require oil to be pumped to the turbo unit to lubricate it, but because all of the heat from the exhaust you will need an oil cooler. dont forgate some wastegates in case of a pressure build up. it gets pretty complex. very cool though.
