Another exhaust question...
Is it okay to cut holes in a cross member? I need to route my exhaust higher off of the ground and the only way I can see to do it is to route it through the crossmember. Obviously, it would weaken the support but enough to be a problem? Maybe someone has a better idea? Thanks in advance. JAke

Re: Antoher exhaust question...
I got the same question. I am about to route my eshaust through the cross member and was curious about that. I know the aftermarket ones have exhaust passages.
Out of curiousity how are you going to route your exhaust? X/H pipe? Mufflers? |

Re: Antoher exhaust question...
I have seen them cut, but there's an insert you need to stiffen the crossmember after cutting the hole. I believe it was a round insert, but I can't remember. Maybe someone else has seen the pic and has a link.

Re: Antoher exhaust question...
I have an H pipe now, I plan to do the same with flowmaster 40's and some exhaust cutouts right after the headers.

Re: Antoher exhaust question...
Yes you can cut it, just weld a ring in the hole to strengthen it back up. There are some pics on here, search exhaust maybe...
