Guess what I found in my truck today

Well I've had my truck for 2 years this month. And I've been wanting to clean out what was left of the factory seam sealer from the drip rail. It didn't have much anyway. After the rain earlier this week ( four days worth), so all the wet floor was getting to me. So today when it got up around 60 degrees I went outside to work on my truck. No garage.... Well I got out the rust remover tool on the end of my drill and went to work. Got it all seam sealed and got inside the cab and was looking around and decided to take a peek under the front windshield rubber ( up top below the sun visors) and guess what I found ALL ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD, RUST. It looks pretty bad. You can press on the rubber and it makes a crunching sound. So I might be fixing the truck that I bought earlier in the year for parts. It's in better shape roof area anyways. It needs inner and outer rockers, cab corners, and I haven't looked at the cab mounts yet. The one I was going to fix it needs inner and outer rockers, passenger side drip rail, some body work above the cab corner on the passenger side. So which one would you fix? Thanks, Jeff.

I'd go with the better roof, that's an expensive area to fix. The rocker and lower cab areas are pretty easy and there are a lot of sources for patch panels.

Re: Guess what I found in my truck today

Today i found an old picture. Its a blk and white one with a colored lady and a babby cart on the front poarch of an old house. No date or names or anything on the back ofit i also found a factory plate that surprisingly is rust free it has the vehicle weight and all on it.

Sorry abou the bad luck on the roof and such but IMHO id go with the better roof.

Re: Guess what I found in my truck today

Thanks that's what I was thinking too. All I need is a welder and patch panels now. And of course some green backs. LOL.

Re: Guess what I found in my truck today

continue to drive 'ole rusty.
Remove semi-rusty cab from donor truck.
Continue todrive 'ole rusty
fix cab that was removed.
Swap cabs when you take a week off of work.
Scrap the old cab... 500-ish pounds at 200 bucks a ton, it's worth 50 bucks.

The only problem with this plan, is you don't have a garage.

Re: Guess what I found in my truck today

isn't $5 a 100 pounds the exact same as $100 a ton?

Re: Guess what I found in my truck today

I have the same problem with mine. A tree fell on the right side top and cause the top to get smashed in alittle. So the seams gave away. I have a big rust problem
