Shorty dump?

Hopefully, my next project will be a '67 shorty-step, if I can find the right one.

My intention is to create a comfortable, but functional truck that I could convince even my wife to drive. I'd love to get her out of her Grand Prix.

So, aside from the obvious conversions and updates like power steering, power brakes, power windows, A/C, tint, I'm seriously wondering about a hydraulic dump for the bed.

We're getting into some house flips, and therefore some renovations, and a pickup that dumps would come in hamdy for removing material to the landfill site. The intention is to create a work truck that looks good.

Can anyone remember seeing a shortbed that dumps?

Am I dreaming too big? I don't think so. I rarely dream......it's more like a vision of the future..... www.67HEAVEN.com

Re: Shorty dump?

There's a fella on here with a longbed dumpbox or two... can't remember who at the moment, so I don't see why a swb isn't possible.

Re: Shorty dump?

I can`t imagine a dumping Stepside bed handling much tipping weight. The ones you see are all show. There would need to be a serious sub-frame for a Stepside to handle a load, which would raise the height of the bed.
Just get a dump trailer.
