one ton sheet metal the same?

Hi guys (and girls?). Just bought a 79 stepside, and the nose needs help. Will a 79 nose (fenders and hood) from a C30 fit? Two and four wheel drive the same? I have always assumed so, but not 100% sure. Supposedly the C30 parts are "rust free". Are Chevy and GMC grills interchangeable? The C30 is a GMC, and my truck is a Chevy (with a crappy junkyard GMC nose). Thanks for your help!

Re: one ton sheet metal the same?

Yup, everything is the same...especially if 79 parts are going on a 79.

Re: one ton sheet metal the same?

Would the core support also be the same between a Chevy and a GMC?

I believe so..if there is indeed a difference, it could be the grill depth, and that could be solved by different core support grill brackets. I am pretty sure the core support is the same however between the two.

Re: one ton sheet metal the same?

Thanks guys, I am about to go pick up a 78 nose, which is much better off for the same money. Plus, I believe my truck is a 78, and I like that style so much better. I am hoping to get the nose painted the same green as the rest of my truck, and one door, so it'll look decent until I can afford to redo it all. (RED!!)
