tach question

im looking in to putting a tach into my 68 2wd short wide pick up. i want a stock in dash guage. i hate the looks of those on the colum. what do i need to consider for putting in a tach in a dash that came stock with out one. cost is an issue so the fewer pieces i need to replace the better. Any help would be much appriciated. thanks.

Re: tach question

check the FAQ on tach...there are a couple good threads that talk about using camaro tachs from the mid 70's to mid 80's...on our trucks

Re: tach question

I installed a Camaro tach. A lot cheaper than the original and almost looks the same.

Re: tach question

You can buy the tach and wiring harness and cut the back side of your dash to install it. You will need the printed circuit for the tach and new lens.
Buy a complete dash and then sale your's. The vendors here can set you up with everything you need.
Just depends on which way you choose to go.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
