Rear help
there is a metal tag on one of my rear's bolts. It is stamped 4110 and 4 10 does this tell me the ratio?

im not positive but i think that means 41 teeth on the ring and 10 on the pinion 41 devided by 10 would = 4.10 ratio you might be lucky jack it up spin the drive shaft 4 turns and see if the wheels turn 10 full rounds

I know a lot of people like to use the "turn the drive shaft and count the revolutions" technique. I would suggest just pulling the cover, if is not an eaton, and count the teeth on the ring gear and pinion. It takes a litlte more effort but I bet you are due for a fluid change anyway, and then you will know for sure. divide the two teeth counts and that is your ratio.

if your gonna pull the cover just look for the stamp on the edge of the ring gear should look like this 41:10

I have a c/20 frame with the rear. I was thinking about holding onto the rear just in case some day i may need it......with the 4:10 is it anything special that I should save? I don't know too much about rear gear raito. I'M NOT looking to sell anything just saving parts I may need someday......I have a c/10 and a k/10 so i'm not looking to use this right now
