upper body trim

i've noticed that most of you guys have lower trim on the body sides ,then some have upper trim.....because different trim levels...ie custom ,cheyenne camper special. ...mine only has upper trim ,on a 70 gmc custom. Is this normal....or should i expect to find bondo and patched holes when i finally get the thing home?

Re: upper body trim

The upper was part of the SierraGrande/CheyenneSuper Wideside/Fleetside and deluxe 2-tone on any other truck. The upper moulding could be specified as an option, too. If you have your SPID,then see what that says. There definately are alot of trucks with filled trim holes. You can check up under you bed or inside the front fender cup for holes.

Re: upper body trim

I've seen planty of trucks with only the upper trim. It isn't part of any option combo like this, but it was avalible on any fleet side or cab/chassis truck.

Re: upper body trim

thanks for the info, i haven't got the truck home yet....and to be quite honest i never looked at the glove box....just noticed the trim ....and since joining here had a bit of a heart attack that the original paint truck i just bought has been touched by bondo(not that there is anything wrong with small amounts of filler) just thought maybe sombody had filled in the lower trim.....and i missed that when i was looking at the truck...i guess i will find out next week
