Tips on Installing Power Steering

I'm about to install power steering on 70 GMC and wondering if there is anything to watch out for or advice on the order of things to install. I took the pump, pulley and box from a 78 C20. Thanks

Re: Tips on Installing Power Steering

Swap the box and pitman arm.

Install pump and belt.

Connect hoses, fill and bleed.

Enjoy.

If you have everything you need, plan on 2 hours of work. The pump brackets can be tedious, particularly the one bolt that goes through the engine mount.

Beware though, that 70 model truck and your 78 donor use drastically different pump and brackets. The boxes interchange though.
