Re: steering gear boxes

According to an article I read in a 4WD magazine some time back;
Metric O ring fittings were on 1980 and up-
Small SAE flare fittings on 77-79
Large SAE flare fittings prior to and including 1976

Re: steering gear boxes

I just put an 81 front end under my 68. The power steering box will fit only if you shave the bumper bracket about 1/2 inch.....easy.

Re: steering gear boxes

I have a '78 ps box I'm gonna put on my '67 - ditto for the mods. should be pretty easy and I'm pretty sure it's a short turn-turn ratio.

Re: steering gear boxes

do they make an adapter to go from an o ring hose to a large flare box? or maybe a hose with an o ring fitting on one end and a flare on the other?
