Clutch linkage

I am sorting out a couple of Z bar, clutch arms, and linkages for the 69 K-20. I have 2 Z bars . One is long and the other shorter. i parted a 76 truck and I believe the long one came from that.Not sure. The engine is not in the frame yet and I was wondering if the pre 72 trucks had a narrower frame than the 76.
Also on the end that pushes the throwout arm I have a couple of washers and a 1/2 inch nut on the rod to push against the throwout arm. Definetly back yard . What exactly should the piece look like that goes there, and where can I purchase one?

The L6 Z-Bar is shorter (I think) than the V8 Z-Bar because there is a stand-off bracket on the L6s. V8s don't use the bracket and make up the distance with a longer Z-Bar. [Unless I have it completely opposite]. This is true for '67/'72 trucks.
Don't know about later models.
Since few retail vendors carry Z-Bars, I would guess this is a junkyard item.

Both V-8s. I know about the 6 cyl bracket on side of engine. I found one in wreck yard. Just wondering. Anyway, length can be figured out on assembly since i know one of these came outa the 69. The end piece tht pushes on throwout however i am not sure about it.

You mean the Clutch Fork? For '67/'72s there is only one part, whatever the configuration. It's a one-piece cast iron unit. The later ['73-on] clutch fork was stamped steel, maybe with rivets, and shorter.

No, not the throw out arm or fork as you call it. The Bell Crank arm or Z-bar that pivots between a mount on the frame and a ball on the side of the engine block.
I can figure that one out easy enough. Too long or too short.

The part that fits on the end of the 3/8 dia. rod that pushes against the throwout arm. Mine has a washer or two and a 1/2 inch nut Jerry rigged up. I am sure it is not factory.
I amcurious what the part should look like. This stuff is usualy not on the trucks at yards since the engines are pulled and the linkage stuff usualy falls in the mud.

Best reference is the old LMC Truck catalog. [Not saying you should buy your parts there] If you've never seen one, they have good explosion-type illustrations and standard names for all the parts. Parts they don't stock or sell anymore are a ghosted -faded gray, but they are there in relation to the other items in the assembly. Very useful item -- and free.

Anyone have a pic/pics of stock K-20 clutch linkage to share?

I'm having the same problem with cobbled up linkage by PO.

I thought i did good by buying all the pieces I could find that were available ( mine were wore out ) but it still just does not line up right. The new rod (from LMC)that goes from the z-bar to the fork is way to short and I did get the correct frame bracket from a board member.

I guess i'll have to break out the mig and makie it work, but i'd rather have it stock

From what info i have gathered from this site i beleive the K-20 linkage is different from C series. Am i right in thinking this?

If both of you will log onto oldmusclecars.com at modern chevrolet, winston salem NC. They offer the piece at the end of the push rod you are looking for from GM - for I think less than five dollars. Just looked it up called Push rod to fork U nut- part number 3701GM $2.30 each, do not list 4x4 bell crank but do list sb bell crank for 39.95 each, it however is a reproduction part.
