Piant & body work has begun.

While customer projects are out of the shop last week, I decided to make some progress on the Blazer. Filled minor pitting in floor and other areas will ALL-METAL. That will outlast the truck. Got the firewall, kick panels, and the bedsides pretty straight. Already applied 2 coats of high build 2K urethane and ready to block with 220. Waiting on the doors to be hung to finish blocking the bedsides with the doors. Pictures just don't show the man hours required to get one straight during the stage of the build, but here are a few.

Fuel fill i am either going to install a door out of a 88-98 truck or a flip down tail light. That is still up in the air. Truck is getting a Vintage Air unit, so all that is needed there is the firewall bulkhead for the lines.

Yep I know what you mean about the amount hours not showing. I do this stuff as well so I know you have atleast 15-20hrs so far into this build

No really it is looking great, mine is still in the side yard getting pee'd on by my guard dog As for the bulk head fitting check out what I did on Lemon Drop. It pops out thru the side kick panel vent then will run up the inner fender behind the fender it self for a real clean hidden look.

That will be an SOB to hook up those lines on the inside the first time. Haven't decided yet where I am going to put it yet, That will be decided once I mount the body to the frame.

I looked at the time sheet the other day on the tub. Unfortunatley i did not keep track of the chassis, but I have about 80 hours in the tub (including metal repair) and probably another 100 before it is ready for paint.

That sounds good to me! I am figuring about 150-250 in body repair and body mods then another 80-140 for paint prep. I dont even want to think about cut and color right now because it will be all surfaces Well I might cheap out on the cut/color for the bottom, my new Sata guns should lay that down good enough to drop 5" off the ground for ride height

So what are you plans for color's?

All-Metal is a aluminum based filler that will not shrink and is as stable as the metal. It can be machined, and threaded, seen it done. I used it to fill any pitting I had left and any spots deeper than 1/16th inch that needed filled.

Great progress and yes, the hours do show.

We have a K5 tub in the shop right now also, pretty good all considered but the customer wanted all the holes filled (carpet strip/trim etc) that won't be needed for his intended build.
All good but it turned out there where 116 of em in total!
That's not counting the pass. side aux fuel filler hole that needed patching.

Winter and a customers '57 Chevy put it on the back burner the last couple months. Been waiting on the doors and tailgate to get repaired. Those got repaired last week and picking them up tommorrow. Tub has been near ready for color for a month or so. Have new Tri-Plus fenders and hood here waiting for mock up. Got another couple weeks to go on the '57, so watch for updates coming next month.
