What was the last year they painted the chevy engines orange ?

1976 or 77. I KNOW '76 was orange as I've had two different motors I pulled straight from the cars. Our '78 Malibu had the motor painted blue. Then around 82-83 they went to black.

My dad bought a 76 Nova in 76 . It had an orange engine. Then he bought a 79 Blazer in 79. It had a blue engine so must be in there somewhere.

I jest brougt home a 76 Part's truck With a 350 , It's orange , I'm pulling it tomarrow & see if it's Original or not.

78 blue, 77 orange/red

'82 still blue i know for sure and '83 '84 i dntr know, but '85 are black for sure i know

technically 67-72 are red, check out back of owners manual for engine coilor chart, shows them as red

orange was later on
