Getting the bolts out of the rear springs...
Ok, both lower bolts broke. One allowed me to get the spring loose while the other just sits there mocking me.
The uppers are not moving period. The nuts inside the frame chanel are so rusted they won't even take a wrench. How the hell am I going to get these loose? If they tops were loose at least I could mess with the lowers on a bench, but not while they're still attached to the truck. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm thinking about pulling out the whimpy dremel tool and trying to get in there with a grinding wheel. That will take about 1000 years. :P

Best way of removing old rusted bolts is with a cutting torch. Could probably rent a cutting setup from a tool rental place. If you have never used one practice on some scrap steel. Takes about 10 seconds to blow one off. Have a spray bottle or fire extinguser handy.

Die grinder with a metal cutting disc will cut off bolt heads and nuts pretty fast also. My die grinder is one of my most universal tools. Next week I get to port a new set of heads with it. Yea!

Here in Illinois, the "smokewrench" is my best friend when working on the bottom side of these old vehicles.
