Transmission line to radiator fitting size

Can someone tell me what the size is for the transmission line fitting that screws into the radiator? Is it 1/4 NPT X 3/8" or what? Thanks.

Re: Transmission line to radiator fitting size

Crawdad: Line fittings are a machine thread NOT a pipe thead. I DO NOT know the thread size or pitch. I always just grab the fitting I need out of my drawer of fittings and if I need more I go over to NAPA and match them up and buy a handful. Trans cooler lines are 1/4" so take a piece of line and the old nut over to NAPA and match 'em up. If your replacing the lines double flare the ends. Not real critical in this application but on the brakes it's a must. Don't do what I did and make a beautiful set of cooler lines and flare them and go to the trouble of putting them in place only to find I forgot to put the nuts on FIRST!! God, sometimes I can be a real dumbass!! Hope this helps, jim

Re: Transmission line to radiator fitting size

Ok, thanks Jimbow. I'll run over there tomorrow and rummage through their fittings. Appreciate the info.
