69 Front Bumper
I am currently in the process of planning out the restoration of our 69 GMC (restro-mod if you will) and have a couple of questions.
1) on the front bumper- what about going to a bumper with fog lights in it, only convert the fog lights to the front turn signals- thus removing the turn signals from the lower grille? I would think all you would have to do is re-route turn signal wires and change the lens of the fog/now turn signal lights. 2) what are some other good mirrors (like 3rd generation camero) to use? I plan on converting to the single glass door windows (removing the vent window). Thanks Larry |

If you want to use fog lights for turn signals, you'll need to incorporate a relay setup. The bulbs will draw a lot more current than the turn signal switch is designed to handle. There are headlights from Yogi's that also have an LED turnsignal in the bottom of the lamp assembly that will also do what you want to do, and probably save you some money, based on the cost of the bumper, the lights and the relay setup. The lights from Yogi's are less than $200 for the pair, and they use replaceable bulbs.

ChevLoRay- thanks for the advise. What I was thinking was pulling out the fog light bulb and harness and replacing it with a set up from the turn signals and just extend each wire down to the new location. I will check out Yogi's.

You could also just use the 71/72 front bumper that already has the turn signals lights in them.
I like your idea though.

palf70step is right i believe the 71 72 bumper works and has them already in there look in lmc they have a wide selection.
but if you want the bragging rights of saying you did it yourself id say go for it just tie in longer wires and you should be set. i like the idea |
