The catch,it's a long bed, for the majority a short bed is prefered but for somebody looking for a longbed might be worth a look.

Re: What's the catch?!

I don't really think the LWB is the issue here. The price, $1,200 is a good price. I think the inside would remind most of a bad acid trip .... I mean shag on the dash, I've not seen that for many years. Guy's did allot of stuff with vans and such back then and for the most part it was tacky then and it still is now.

Re: What's the catch?!

It's not a real Spirit of 76 ?

Spirit of 76 trucks had white interior panels with the spirit of 76 logos. Also had special graphics. Just because you have your seat redone in red white and blue in your white 1976 truck doesn't make it a real spirit of 76. I've seen a couple pictures of real ones and this one is not even close

Re: What's the catch?!

The drivetrain sounds nice. Serpentine setup, and you get a 12 bolt with 3.42 gears which in my opinion are the best balance between acceleration and highway RPM's. Given a straight body and no rust, it's a good deal. Put in a new seat and a dash pad and you would be in business. Hard to say on the body just from pictures. These trucks are really photogenic to begin with and white hides dents really well.

Your right .... it's a good deal and if I wanted a project that price would be attractive. I would not mind ripping out that interior and getting my hands dirty to save a buck. I know allot of people who would not do it though and it's these types that the interior would put off. Like you say real or not it does not matter at $1,200.00 bucks.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind ripping the interior out either. I would love to get a truck that I can just take out and haul stuff with, drive to the desert and go shooting with, an all around truck. Ya know?

Oh, trust me when I say I hear ya about the all around truck. Just one little problem. This is why I rent a truck for the dump.

I told my wife my 70' was the truck for the going to the dump trip. Sounded good at first. Then winter 2006 hits and I pull it into the shop (bought it Oct/2006.) Just giving it a tune up dear don't worry maybe go all out and put a set of rear brake linings on ....

I pulled it out May/2007 and the dump idea was down the toilet!! How do you keep your hands off it, if it sits in the drive way for too long it starts to become a project. Were all hopelessly ADDICTED!!

I know exactly what you mean.

I guess the only way around that is to get a pointless little daily driver than would look uglier modded than it would stock.

Nah. I think I'll stick to the trucks.
