the 700R4
there is a servo upgade for the tranny, has anyone relaced theirs and how much changes did you do, is it worth the Money? I have a LT1 almost ready to fire up only roughly $700.00 more into the motor this includes buying a battery,MAf sensor,mufflers, reprogram computor,A/C lines, A/C condensor,power steering hose,a few bucks of bolts and what ever comes up I forgot at this point to fire it up but Im curiuos about changing the servo in the 700 behind the LT1,

I put Corvette servos in mine. It works great. But I also upgraded everything else in it.

I have put the upgraded servos, sonex valves, hardened valve body parts, heavy duty planetary, larger clutch packs, and upgraded sun gears in mine. The difference in the tranny is NIGHT AND DAY. I like the hard shift and the quick response in it.

Would one of you guys that went through a 700r4 want to post a build thread? Maybe point out what parts to purchase and replace, etc.?
How had can it be to do a decent rebuild on an auto? I'd really like to try this. Looking at the link 70GMCer posted, they sell books describing the break down and reassembly. I guess I'd rather buy a $20 book, invest some time, and do one or two myself than keep paying the rebuild guy $350 - $1000. Anybody?

I had the transmission shop upgrade the 700-R4 in the 71 and it has close to 130,000 on it now without the first problem. I also run the internal and a external cooler on it.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
